My love of nature and art, and my desire to preserve Earth’s natural resources, have stimulated me to pursue a form of ecological art, created from scores of used magazine pages that are color sorted, hand-torn and fashioned into a nature mosaic. Culling old magazines for usable colors and textures is an ongoing process. Pulling the palette and artfully applying pieces to render a bold composition takes many hours. Recycling does not stop at the magazines - each frame and backboard has also been repurposed for the new Earth-friendly piece.  The results are unique and TEARriffic!

Following are a selection of my recent creative works (adjusted from time-to-time during occasional web-site updates).  Several are on display at BRIXX WOOD FIRED PIZZA in Asheville, North Carolina. and at Made 2 Order in Islamorada, Florida. I will consider creating particular creature or size mosaics.   - Shelley Schenker
